Subject area: Landscape Planning in the context of Gardens, Parks and Landscapes – their history and cultural heritage.
Duties: The senior lecturer is expected not only to develop her/his own research and teaching, but also to lead and develop the research and teaching within the subject area. Teaching includes the department’s basic and advanced teaching, as well as its postgraduate training.
Qualifications:
A person shall be qualified for appointment as senior lecturer if he or she has completed a doctorate or has corresponding academic qualifications or some other professional skill that is of value with regard to the subject matter concerned and the duties that the position will involve, has taken a course in teaching and learning in higher education or acquired corresponding knowledge in some other way and has demonstrated teaching skills. As much attention shall be given to the assessment of teaching skills as to the assessment of other circumstances.
Assessment criteria:
Assessment for the appointment shall be based on the degree in which a candidate possesses the skill required to qualify for appointment. Furthermore, regard shall be paid to the degree in which a candidate possesses administrative and other skills of importance, taking into account the subject matter determined by the institution of higher education for the position and the duties that the position will involve. Moreover, regard shall be paid to the degree in which a candidate possesses skills in developing and managing activities and staff at the higher education institution and aptitude in interacting with the surrounding community and informing people about research and development projects.
Candidates will preferably have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Landscape Architecture, acquired by advanced studies and/or professional practice. First priority will be given to candidates with an excellent capacity and proven track record for building and consolidating work-groups and initiating and maintaining national and international networks on teaching and research within the subject area. Second priority is an ability to work in a broad, multi-disciplinary and multi-competence context, crossing traditional disciplinary boundaries. Thirdly, a willingness and aptitude to engage in community outreach and interaction with society outside academia will also be appreciated.
Within two years of appointment, the successful candidate is expected to be able to communicate (spoken and written) in one of the Scandinavian languages.
The application shall be written in any of the Scandinavian languages or in English.

The scientific and pedagogic documentation submitted in support of the application shall be indicated in the application, and one copy of each document shall be made available to the Registrar at the time of application. At most 10 scientific publications and at most 10 pedagogic publications, including popularized versions, should be submitted in support of the application. In addition a complete list of publications shall be supplied; the publications submitted with the application must be indicated. When expert reviewers have been appointed, the applicant(s) will be informed to send copies of the documentation listed in the application to each one of the reviewers.
