Garance Nyssen

Graduated in Art History and Museology from the Ecole du Louvre, Garance Nyssen is a master student in Anthropology at Université Paris Nanterre. Her research at the Ecole du Louvre focused on Bottled Ocean, one of the last project of George Nuku, a Māori, Scottish and Germanic artist. She is now doing research on the circulation and restitution of Polynesian artefacts. More specifically, she is working on the restitution case of the « maro ‘ura de Wallis » kept at the musée du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac which will be repatriated to the Musée de Tahiti et des Îles Te Fare Manaha in 2022. She is also an author for the online journal CASOAR and teaches Anthropology and Oceanic Art at the Ecole du Louvre.
