Emanuela Rossi

Emanuela Rossi is associate professor of Cultural Anthropology at the
University of Florence. She began to work on heritage from a museum
perspective in her PhD thesis on the formation of the collection of the
Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver (Canada), published in 2003 with the
title of Passione da museo. In Canada she is part of the Great Lakes
Research Alliance for the study of Aboriginal Arts and Cultures
(GRASAC): an international group of researchers which has been working
ona project of digital repatriation. At the moment she is doing research
on the Indigenization process of the National museums in Canada and on
some “heritage communities” in Italy using a critical approach to
heritage studies.
