Isto Huvila works as a professor in information studies at the Department of ALM (Archival Studies, Library and Information Studies and Museums and Cultural Heritage Studies) at Uppsala University in Sweden and is docent in information management at Information Studies, Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland.
Research interests: information and knowledge management, information work, knowledge organisation, documentation, research data, social and participatory information practices.
A focal area of the work are archives, libraries and museums, archaeology and cultural heritage.
