CFA : CONTRAT DOCTORAL – Critical Museum and Heritage Studies – University of Bonn

Call for application for a PhD position (65%) in Critical Museum and Heritage Studies at the Global Heritage Lab, University of Bonn.

It is an exciting opportunity to develop and conduct your own research on museums and heritage in an international, transdisciplinary team and to work with the Argelander Professor for Critical Museum and Heritage Studies.

The Argelander Professorship for Critical Museum and Heritage Studies engages in transdisciplinary and transcultural heritage research, including the testing of decolonial methodologies. It seeks to plurify the formation of knowledge across museums and heritage.

The Global Heritage Lab is an international research hub for critical museum and global heritage studies and an innovative teaching and exhibition space. It fosters transcultural and transdisciplinary experimentation and provides impulses for rethinking museums and understanding cultural heritage against the background of global economic, ecological, cultural and political challenges. In particular, it engages with historically marginalised bodies of knowledge and forms of cultural expression. The Global Heritage Lab is supported by the Transdisciplinary Research Area Present Pasts, which is dedicated to researching the connections between current challenges and processes and negotiations of comparable phenomena in the past.
