Call for application for the Master in Cultural Heritage Management at the French University of Egypt is officially open!
The CHM master is a one year program in partnership with Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne Unesco chair in Cultural Tourism, under the direction of Prof. Fekri Hassan and Prof. Maria Gravari-Barbas. Its third edition will be offered from October 2013.
Curriculum includes a variety of topics related to cultural heritage management structured in general courses and specialised courses following one of the options here mentioned : 1.Cultural Tourism, 2.Museum Studies, 3.Architectural and Urban Heritage.
All courses and course materials are in English and address a public of graduated and professionals working in the field of heritage.
Lessons are offered during three afternoons per week and often a field trip during the Saturdays is organised by the course coordinators to combine an on site experience with the theoretical courses.
Attendance is obligatory. An exam or written essay have to be submitted by the end of each module.
A summer internship has to be undertaken as integral part of the curriculum during the summer semester and at the conclusion of the courses you are expected to write a master thesis, result of a combined work on field and your theoretical research. Thesis can be written in English or French and has to be presented in an oral examination session in front of a mixed commission of Egyptian and French experts and professors.
